About Us

Grant grew up in a construction family so his first work experiences were always construction related.  After getting out of the US Navy, he decided to pursue a career in civil engineering, but soon discovered that a surveying career would better fit his outdoor practical leanings. After graduation from college in 1998, Grant started his Idaho surveying career in Soda Springs where he fell in love with Idaho. Over the years, various work opportunities have allowed Grant to survey in many different states and countries from New York to California and throughout Central and South America. These experiences have shaped Grant’s approach to his work by seeing projects not so much about problems to be solved; but instead, about relationships to be fostered.  

Cole Dorman first started his surveying career in 2018 working on timber surveys in North Idaho and Eastern Washington.  Working in remote and rugged areas in all 4 seasons has given Cole a strong foundation for understanding the trail the early surveyors walked long ago and provides a humbling perspective from which to approach today’s survey work given all the technological advantages to be had. Cole is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree remotely in Surveying Engineering from Idaho State University with hope of attaining licensure within the next few years.

Matt has worked in engineering and drafting for over 20 years and in surveying for over 10 years. He has a degree in Civil Engineering and is studying in the Land Surveying program at Idaho State University, after which he plans to obtain his Land Surveyor license in Idaho and Washington.
